A Little Bit about me...

Music has been part of my life since my earliest memories. From the Close and Play record player with its tiny speaker playing at full throttle, I was infected.

It wasn't long before I was gifted my first drum at the age of 3. Surrounded by an upright piano, acoustic guitar, mandolin and much singing and laughter, our family always had sweet music at its epicentre.

Dave Brubeck, Stan Kenton, Acker Bilk, Tommy Dorsey, Hebert von Karajan, Miles Davis, Trini Lopez, The Talbot Brothers,  Richard Wagner and The Rolling Stones were but some of the platters I remember being spun as I was growing up.

My first band in grade 7 was a trio and we played what we wanted - ELP, Elton John and Edgar Winter. Although high school was a tough go for me at times, thanks to music and my mates I somehow made it through those challenging years. The band was now a four piece and we played the music we were listening to at the time - Rush, Max Webster, Saga. I would have never thought that I would end up working with and for members of all three bands later on in my career.

After high school I went to Austria, Europe in an effort to investigate a possible 'B' plan to music. That 6 month stint of working a 'real job' landed me in a hospital with stress related issues. Upon my recovery I went to my first institution of formal music training - Salzburg's Mozarteum.   Following an introductory semester of theory, history and general studies, I made my way back to North America attending Boston's Berklee School of Music for 3 semesters.

During a school break and back home in Toronto I hooked up with two people that would influence my course of actions and my future in music - guitarist and producer Richard Chycki and keyboardist and MIDI guru Jim Burgess.

In short order we formed a band, established a studio and went on the road touring many of the great venues that Ontario had to offer...

My current performance and recording projects range from instrumental to vocal ensembles. Here are three of them, each a bit different from the other. If you want to hear some past recordings then you can follow the Soundcloud link to music there.

Updates are ongoing so make sure to check in often to see what is rolling out of the bunker at BAHM Production Space.
